remember the 'Great railway journeys' series Geoff but this might date a bit later than you quote. This was on BBC television and videos were available.

Can anyone remember the 60's English produced TV series about trains around the world. I think it was called Tracks Around the World but can't be sure. It was shown in Australia in 1968 or 1969. The only episode I remember was set in a South American jungle and was unique in that I clearly remember the train pulling into a railway station in the jungle. The station had a trainshed roof plus doors at each end. The train arrived too late to continue (travel during daylight hours only) and so the engine and train were locked away at night in the trainshed. Next morning the doors were opened and the train went on its way.

I'm interested in identifying where the train was plus does anyone know if the series has been released on DVD?

Cheers Geoff
